it's a fall state of mind.

Working at a mall has its ups and downs, but one of my most favorite things about such an environment is that it truly solidifies when we change seasons. It may feel like summer (or rather, it may FEEL like the bottomless pitt of Hell outside, but I digress...), but by golly that doesn't stop stores from putting out new falls clothes. With the emergence of boots, trenches, and the ever lovely gem tones of the autumn season, I am getting more than antsy for fall weather to show it's face.

For me, fall means a multitude of traditions. It means my birthday (which I'm ALL for pushing back indefinitely. I don't feel like getting any older, kthxbaiiiii birthday!). It means pumpkins and lattes (even better, pumpkin FLAVORED lattes). It means watching as the tree my grandfather planted for me when I was born turn its leaves the most brilliant shades of crimson and auburn you've ever seen.

It means the best of the best kitty and puppy snuggles. It means being the superficial being that I am and buying my annual new fall bag (which I believe this year's winner will be this.)

This year, fall will also bring new traditions - six days before my birthday (November 12th, y'all. Start getting your gift ideas in order. I may not be getting any older but I still expect presents, kthxbaiiiiii.) marks my first year anniversary with my love. Every single day I grow more and more in love with that complete and total goober, so we gonna' do the anniversary up big y'all. (Okay, I'm done being sappy, you can all stop hanging yourselves.)

Colder weather also means I get to put my lil' man in sweaters, and good Heavens if puppies in sweaters isn't the best fall tradition there is!
