We saw, we ate, we conquered. The best parts, as usual, were the fried frito pies, petting zoo, and rides. I went on the ferris wheel for the first time - I know, kind of sad considering I've lived here my whole life.
Here's a little video of our fair shenanigans. Obviously, we spent most of the time petting goats. No shame, they were adorable. And I give you fair warning, my voice gets 100 times more annoying and high-pitched when I'm around baby animals. It's a disease.

One of the many things I love about Dallas is our State Fair. It's pretty expensive, but there are a LOT of ways to cut down the prices (coupons, cans of coke, etc.) and spend a fantastic day running around like a kid again. A good time was had by all this weekend.
Today, I wanted to send out some link love, too. A few bloggers posted some things that truly resonated with me last week. Amy wrote a post that inspired me in two ways: 1. I'm re-evaluating things in my life that make me unhappy but I keep around anyway, and 2. I totally redid my underwear drawer. Not quite sure that was the effect she intended to have, but it happened anyway. :)
Maddie's stress-free manifesto that Amy pointed her readers to also really inspired me.
Also, head over to Neely's blog for her week of giveaways!
Happy Monday!
xo.
UPDATE:
Oh, here go hell come - Amber rightly pointed out to me that I forgot the MOST important part of my weekend in this recap: GIRLS' NIGHT AT NEELY'S.
We watched the Rangers (well, sort of), ate pizza, looked at cats on YouTube, and browsed matched.com. Yeah, it was kind of a big deal. Love you girls. :)

I LOVE the fair. I am sure the Los Angeles county fair is not 1/2 as good as Dallas, but I loved it!
Aww, you and Drew are so stinkin' cute!
FYI, I gave you a blog award yesterday.
Love the pic of you and Drew, but seriously - you had never ridden the ferris wheel? Why are we even friends? ;)
Oh, btw, where is girls' night in this weekend recap, hmmm?
I am from Dallas. My family HAS A STAND at the Fair. And I didn't ride that ferris wheel until I was out of high school. (and I didn't really like it...haha) So don't feel bad!
